Mission:

“To serve as a voice for our members in enhancing the well-being of children, families and communities in Tennessee.”

Guiding Principles-To fulfill our mission, we believe:

  • The family, community and government share responsibility for the safety and well-being of children;
  • Service providers, families, foster and adoptive parents are partners in the provision of timely and appropriate high-quality care;
  • An integrated system of care should emphasize prevention over intervention, reflect a partnership between family, community and government and be culturally relevant;
  • Partnership requires open, honest and respectful communication fostering an awareness of services and agreed upon authorities and responsibilities;
  • Staff at all levels should be held accountable to a professional code of conduct; and
  • Quality improvement is an on-going process, utilizing external and internal performance standards, as well as fostering professional development.

Advocacy and legislation tracking allows our membership to stay on the forefront of child welfare policy and determine how changes potentially affect children and families.

TN Alliance staff and Board members are available to serve on various study/work groups in order to bring a provider perspective to the table.  Through our pro-active initiatives, TN Alliance has become a leading voice on issues at the state and national levels.
